BARBELLS, BIKINIS & BEAUTY with Kimberly

It's been a while since I've shined my spotlight on ladies killing it in the fitness game. This CAC gold medalist is nothing short of a true island beauty and surely a fitspiration to many.

Kimberly Ephraim from Antigua graciously agreed to share a bit of her journey with us, and how why and what got her started into fitness & what keeps her going.

When did you get into fitness & why?

I think I first walked through the doors of a gym sometime in 2007, at that point I was the typical girl just wanting abs and toned legs. somewhere around 2011 i went to y first local bodybuilding show and pretty much made the decision right there and then to try training seriously and take part in my first competition and i haven't missed a year since.

What would you say is your biggest fitness-fear?

My absolute BIGGEST fear is not improving from my previous year. I always just want to know that every time i step on stage I'm better than the last time.

Describe your perfect day at the gym

Two words ...EMPTY GYM!

What motivates you to get up and train as consistently as you do?

Being able to make my coach, family and supporters proud every time I step on stage

Who is your biggest supporter?

I would have to say my boyfriend, I can always depend on him for an honest opinion and unwavering physical and mental support.

Have you experienced any roadblocks, Negativity or obstacles throughout your fitness journey? How did you deal with them?

I most definitely have, I think the worst of which have been me second guessing my self. This is where having a solid support system really makes a difference. Having positive people in you circle to give honest feedback, guidance and support makes the world of difference.

What has been the most valuable life lesson fitness has taught you?

I would have to say commitment if you really want to achieve your fitness goals it requires non stop commitment to them even on the bad days. Simply put no matter what hits you keep moving forward baby steps are still steps in the right direction.

Your Favorite healthy meal ?

I make a mean "healthy" pizza. I use oat bran flat bread, turkey pepperoni, chicken breast and low fat mozzeralla its pretty spectacular! Photo by Yohan Perez Art

Favorite cheat meal

KFC- 3 piece combo, biscuit, fries, corn and large soda.

What would you say your life “motto” is ?

Because, blessings. Because, evolution. Because, growth.-Alex Elle
